6–7:30 p.m. United Nations Club Chinese Culture and Cuisine event – School of Nursing Building 196. The event will include free samples of authentic Chinese food made by Viterbo international students and a screening of a film of Chinese culinary traditions entitled Flavorful Origins.

The new Viterbo American Sign Language Club will have its first meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 in the School of Nursing Building 195. Everyone welcome.

The advancement office will host Salvation Army Angel Tree Tags again this year. The tags will be on the Christmas tree located in the Murphy Center Lobby before the Thanksgiving break. The tags contain names of children in the La Crosse community who are signed up for the Angel Giving Tree program and includes sizes, ages and style preferences. Shoppers are asked to take a tag and purchase a new shirt, pants and pair of shoes, totaling under $50 for a child in need. All wrapped gifts can be returned to the Christmas tree.

The newsletter provides recent federal agency and foundation-related developments, news on funding opportunities and useful tips to improve grantsmanship and increase proposal competitiveness. Paws for Pause Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 3:30–5 p.m. at the Brophy Center patio or lobby depending on the weather for some pet therapy provided by the Coulee Region Humane Society.

Viterbo health services will host the lunch and learn “PTSD: Stories and Hope” in honor of Veteran’s Week from 12:10–1:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Reinhart Center 134. Employees are invited to attend the professional development event "Life after Death: Dealing with Grief" at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the School of Nursing Building 101. Presented by Martha Boehm, Viterbo digital marketing and media specialist, who will share her personal and inspirational journey to find joy after the loss of her parents. She explains what has helped her and describes ways to try to help people who are grieving.

Health services will host a flu shot clinic from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the Student Union. Cost is $7 for students and $17 for employees. If you are unable to make the clinic, schedule an individual appointment at or ext. 3806.

The Viterbo community and the public are invited to attend the Wisconsin Conversation on Servant Leadership “Serving the Common for a Greater Good” from 7 a.m.–9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 in the Fine Arts Center FSPA Lobby. Presenters are Scott Rathgaber, M.D., CEO of Gundersen Health System; Shawn Kudron, Chief of the La Crosse Police Department, and Annette Roter, director of the Viterbo Master of Arts in Servant Leadership program.
